In my classes, I share my knowledge so that you not only become stronger and fitter but also understand how to avoid pain due to poor posture.
Having grown up in Forel, I worked in Human Resources for a number of years. Poor posture, back pain and sciatica haunted me. Finally, I needed an operation for a herniated disk. This resolved my acute pain but not the underlying weakness. This realisation pushed me to try Pilates. It worked both my mind and body and helped prevent my back pain from reoccurring.
In 2013, this journey led me to train as a teacher at Pilates in Motion in London under Anoushka Boone, a founding member of the Pilates Foundation. I qualified as a teacher both in Matwork and equipment. This training gave me a strong foundation in anatomy and biomechanics.
Having taught in London for many years, working alongside physiotherapists and in studios, I came back to Switzerland and set up my first studio in Basel. I have since returned to my family home in Forel where I opened my new Pilates studio in the peaceful surroundings of the Lavaux.
I continually attend workshops in Pilates and biomechanics in addition to currently training to teach Qigong. I am bilingual in English and French. I can also teach classes in German.

FAQs
What is the difference between Reformer, equipment and Matwork?
Matwork classes are usually group classes, carried out on the mat, and may make use of small equipment such as weights or bands. Equipment classes tend to be private classes or of no more than two or three participants, and will make use of several Pilates machines during class, including the Reformer.
How do I choose between equipment and mat classes?
The Pilates Reformer and equipment use springs which give you more resistance to better feel the movement and also offers more possibilities to modify the exercises, which can allow you to progress more quickly. Floor classes are collective, more economical and focus on a full-body workout with variable intensity.
Is Pilates safe during and after my pregnancy?
Pilates is considered low-impact and safe during and after pregnancy, although some modifications to exercises often become necessary. At the same time, each pregnancy is different, and it is recommended that you speak to your doctor before attending a class.
How many times per week should I do Pilates?
If you can fit in two sessions per week you will feel the difference in your body sooner and make yourself more resilient. However, if at the moment you only have time for one class per week, that will already bring you benefits and you can still strengthen your core and back muscles.
Can I do Pilates if I practise another sport?
Pilates classes are a great complement to other sports as they will balance out your muscles. Many sports will strengthen a group of muscles, so adding Pilates to your routine ensures your whole body gets a rebalancing workout.
I put on some weight recently, can Pilates help me lose it?
Regular Pilates classes will help activate your metabolism and, combined with good nutrition, can support your weight loss and ensure your body maintains and even builds its muscle tone. You might consider private classes if you have a specific goal in mind.
What is the difference between yoga and Pilates?
Some exercises can be similar and both will strengthen the whole body but mat Pilates keeps you moving from one exercise to the next, makes you mindful of your posture and focuses on your core to strengthen you and tone your body. Yoga uses postures which you may have to hold, and has more emphasis on flexibility and spirituality.
Where is Pilates Connection?
Pilates Connection is located on the Route d'Oron, in a wooden Danish house overlooking the Pra Pélisson bus stop. Oron is 8km away, and the centre of Savigny is 2km away.
I would like to improve my balance, are there any suitable classes for me?
Of course! The Jennifer (50+) class focuses specifically on strengthening balance, mobilising joints and coordination in movement. I often use functional exercises that help those aged 50, 60, 70 and over to stay in shape.
